Rio Ferdinand has admitted that his England career could be over after he was left out of the squad for Euro 2012.
The Manchester United defender was snubbed twice by Roy Hodgson for what the manager described as 'footballing reasons'.
Ferdinand's omission led to his representative labelling the FA and Hodgson a 'disgrace'.
The 33-year-old now concedes that he may not return to the international fold.
"You would have to say it might be over with England for me," he told The Sun. "If I'm not getting picked now, especially when people are out injured, then it's unlikely I will be picked again.
"I always said I wouldn't retire from international football until I stopped playing and I won't. I will still be available.
"And I will be watching England and cheering them on at the Euros because it's my country and I want us to do well."
Ferdinand has won 81 caps for the national side following his debut in 1997.
