Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has insisted that he was "really pleased" to have been given the No.27 shirt for the 2015-16 campaign.
Ever since the Belgium international arrived at Old Trafford from Everton two years ago, he has worn the No.31 jersey.
However, having handed that shirt to new signing Bastian Schweinsteiger, Fellaini has revealed that he has a special attachment with the No.27.
"When I was younger and became a professional, Standard Liege gave me the No.27," he told United Review.
"It was a great number for me and, when I had the chance to change, I did. After that, I heard that Bastian Schweinsteiger liked the number 31 and I had no problem with that. I am really pleased with my new number."
In what was his first outing with the new number, Fellaini found the net against Club Brugge on Tuesday evening.
