Roberto Mancini targets the Champions League after winning the Premiership with Manchester City.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has admitted that he now has his sights set on the Champions League.

The Italian masterminded City's Premier League title victory, which was secured with a dramatic 3-2 win over Queens Park Rangers on the final day of the season.

Now Mancini is hunting club football's biggest prize, but he has conceded that his side need to improve before they can compete with Europe's elite.

"Easy to say - Champions League, he said when asked what City's next target is. "I think that as a team we need to improve for this competition.

"The Champions League is a strange tournament. You should be lucky to win the Champions League, you should be in good form, in a crucial moment. It is clear you should have a good team.

"If you have a good team, if you work hard like we have worked in the last two years, I think we can do a great thing."

The Citizens were knocked out in the group stages in their debut Champions League campaign this season.
