Samir Nasri: Manchester City "lucky" to still be in Champions League

Man City playmaker Samir Nasri hopes that his side can take some momentum from their win over Swansea into the vital Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.

Samir Nasri has insisted that Manchester City will "play with nothing to lose" in their make-or-break Champions League clash against Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

The Citizens have picked up just two points from their first four games in the competition this season and head into their meeting with the Bundesliga champions in the knowledge that defeat will end their slim hopes of progression.

Despite this, Nasri remains upbeat that his side can pull off a memorable victory at the Etihad Stadium, following on from their much-needed win over Swansea City yesterday afternoon.

"It was important to keep in touch with Chelsea, who look unbeatable at the moment," the Frenchman said following the 2-1 victory against the Swans. "It was really important to win the game. It was a tough start, they scored an early goal, but we had a good reaction.

"We started to press high and play our game. It was good for the confidence as well because on Tuesday we have a tough game. We are really lucky to still be in with a chance of qualifying because, with two points and two games left, normally you are out. Now is our chance. We have to take it and play with nothing to lose.

He added: "We can take a lot [from this win] but a game against Bayern Munich will not be the same as a game against Swansea. No disrespect to Swansea, who are a great team, but Bayern Munich have world-class players in every position."

Already-qualified Bayern currently lead the Group E standings, while Roma and CSKA Moscow hold a two-point advantage over City in second and third respectively.
