The PFA announce that anger management counselling will be offered to Liverpool striker Luis Suarez following his bite on Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic.

The Professional Footballers' Association have announced that they will offer Liverpool striker Luis Suarez anger management counselling following another controversial incident by the Uruguayan.

The 26-year-old made headlines for biting the arm of Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic during the Merseyside outfit's 2-2 draw at Anfield yesterday, but the incident was missed by referee Kevin Friend.

For Suarez, it is not the first time that he has been involved in this type of incident, as he was issued with a seven-match ban back in 2010 for biting PSV Eindhoven's Otman Bakkal during the striker's time at Ajax.

Following yesterday's controversy, PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor has announced that Suarez will be offered counselling in a bid to tame his anger on the pitch.

"There is no doubting his football ability, that's why it is so disappointing and embarrassing when he lets himself down," Taylor told PA Sport.

"We have to work hard on anger management now. We have trained counsellors in this field and we will be offering their services to Liverpool and the player to try to improve matters."

Suarez, who apologised for his "inexcusable" behaviour, could face a lengthy ban from the Football Association following an investigation.
