Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina feels that the club will need help from the board to compete at the top level once again.

Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina believes that Brendan Rodgers's side will need help from the club's board to compete at the top level once again.

The Reds struggled at the start of the Premier League season but have improved drastically under the former Swansea manager since the turn of the year.

Reina told The Express: "We have to be ready for the very first game of next season to challenge. Obviously, we will need some help from the board, but I think the basis is well settled.

"We know the ideas and philosophies of the manager. It is getting better and better, so hopefully we will be ready to compete."

Liverpool are currently seventh in the Premier League and are five points behind Arsenal in fifth place.
