Luis Suarez believes that Liverpool deserve to be in another domestic cup final despite their disappointing league form.

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has expressed his belief that the club deserve to be in the FA Cup final this season.

The Reds will take on Chelsea in English football's showpiece event later today, looking to add to the league cup they picked up earlier this year.

"I think the club really deserves to be in another final, as although the league form has been disappointing, I think that our performances in the Cup deserved to be rewarded," said the Uruguay international.

"I think that in both the Carling and the FA Cups we have knocked out some tough opponents.

"In the Carling Cup we were drawn away against difficult sides all the way through, and in the FA Cup I think we were lucky enough to be at home in the majority of the rounds, but when you can knock out the likes of Manchester United, Stoke and Everton along the way, it demonstrates the team are aiming high and can produce a performance when it needs to."

Liverpool and Chelsea have only ever met in one major domestic cup final before today - the 2005 League Cup final, which Chelsea won 3-2 after extra time.
