Adam Lallana: 'Top four still possible for Liverpool'

Liverpool playmaker Adam Lallana says that the team still believe that they can qualify for the Champions League this season.

Adam Lallana has insisted that there is still plenty of belief within the Liverpool squad that they can finish in the top four this season.

Last season's runners-up have failed to win seven of their 11 Premier League matches this term, which has seen them slump to 11th in the table.

However, despite having conceded that the season so far "could have gone better", playmaker Lallana has revealed that the players have not given up on qualifying for next term's Champions League.

"The season could have gone better so far. There was going to be high standards this season after what they achieved last time," he told BBC Sport.

"We are the ones that can change this and we are determined to do that. We still believe we can finish in the top four, it would be a remarkable achievement."

Next up for Brendan Rodgers's side is a trip to Crystal Palace tomorrow afternoon.
