Peter Taylor confident of Gillingham survival

Peter Taylor believes that Gillingham are good enough to avoid relegation from League One despite Tuesday's 2-0 defeat to Peterborough United.

Gillingham boss Peter Taylor has backed his team to avoid relegation from League One despite Tuesday's 2-0 defeat to Peterborough United.

The Gills are now five points above the drop zone with five games left to play after losing at London Road Stadium.

"We've got another couple of wins in us," Taylor is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "They're prepared to put the work in so it's going to be tight.

"I can't complain about the way the boys battled on through for the remainder of the game. We have to remember we were beaten by a very good team."

Gillingham continue their campaign on Saturday when they travel to promotion-chasing Leyton Orient.
