Bastian Schweinsteiger hopes that Germany can show their 'aggressive' side at the upcoming European Championship.

Bastian Schweinsteiger has called on his Germany teammates to be 'aggressive' at the upcoming European Championship.

Despite winning praise for their attacking football, the 27-year-old hopes that his team can show plenty of steel during the tournament in Poland and the Ukraine.

"We need a certain amount of aggressiveness," Schweinsteiger told DFB.de. "You can win games not only by playing attractively. Therefore it's important that we show the 'German' virtues, as well as attractive play."

Germany start their Group B campaign on Saturday when they take on Portugal in Lviv.
