Swansea climb to eighth in the Premier League as Gylfi Sigurdsson grabs a brace in their 3-0 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Gylfi Sigurdsson bagged a brace as Swansea City climbed to eighth in the Premier League with a 3-0 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage this afternoon.

The Icelandic midfielder, who has now netted six times since moving on loan to the Liberty Stadium, scored a goal in each half to help the Swans record their third consecutive league win.

Brendan Rodgers's side were once again impressive and could have taken the lead before Sigurdsson's 37th-minute opener.

Scott Sinclair had previously tested Mark Schwarzer, but the Australian keeper responded well to save after his own mistake had presented the winger with the ball.

Sigurdsson himself sent a shot narrowly wide just minutes prior to his first, which came courtesy of good work from Wayne Routledge.

The former Crystal Palace player found space on the right before crossing in for Sigurdsson to stoop low and convert with a diving header.

The on-loan midfielder then doubled his tally on 66 minutes with Routledge once again the provider, having cut back smartly for Sigurdsson to shoot low into the Fulham net.

Joe Allen completed the scoring and wrapped up the points for the Swans when he jinked past Phillipe Senderos before beating Schwarzer to make it 3-0.
