Everton deals for Gareth Barry, Romelu Lukaku in doubt?

Everton's moves to sign Gareth Barry and Romelu Lukaku on a permanent basis are reportedly far from certain.

Everton are concerned that their chances of securing permanent deals for Romelu Lukaku and Gareth Barry could be scuppered by rival clubs, according to The Mirror.

Belgian international Lukaku is thought to be keeping his options open until after the World Cup, where he will likely figure after injury ruled Aston Villa's Christian Benteke out of the tournament.

The youngster is valued around £25m and Everton's hopes of completing a deal may rest on whether the Toffees reach the Champions League.

Meanwhile, Barry is said to considering a big-money move to MLS side New York City FC who are owned by his parent club, Manchester City.

The England international could be offered £100,000 a week to turn down a deal at Goodison Park and move to the Big Apple.
