Landon Donovan admits that he would consider joining Everton on a permanent deal, but only after his LA Galaxy contract ends.

Landon Donovan has revealed that he could make a permanent switch to Everton, but only once his Los Angeles Galaxy contract has expired.

The American has returned to the MLS franchise after a two-month loan at Goodison Park, his second such spell with the Toffees.

While he insists that he will see out the remainder of his deal with Galaxy, Donovan has admitted he would consider a permanent return to Merseyside once that deal ends.

"It would be hard to go to any other club now so if anything were to happen I would imagine it would be here at Everton," Donovan told Reuters.

"My commitment is for two more years to the Galaxy and we'll see what happens after this year but I would obviously welcome the opportunity to come back."

The 29-year-old made nine appearance for David Moyes's side during his stay.
