Roberto Martinez not fearing Everton sack

Everton boss Roberto Martinez insists that his job is not on the line because he has the support of his "perfect chairman" Bill Kenwright.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has insisted that he does not fear being sacked by the Merseyside club.

The Toffees face West Ham United in the FA Cup on Tuesday knowing that defeat would represent their fifth successive loss in all competitions - four in the Premier League.

Martinez's men side also sit 13th in the table, 15 points off the top four, but the Spaniard says that he has the backing of chairman Bill Kenwright to turn things around.

"The truth is that I feel under the same pressure when we win and when we lose because I always look forward," he told The Express.

"The chairman never stops wanting to help and trying to be supportive and he is the perfect chairman in that respect.

"I know I've got his support if anything needs to be done. I trust the chairman, I trust the board and everyone at the football club to make sure we get through this period together."

Everton narrowly missed out on Champions League qualification last season and were made to settle for a fifth-place finish with a record points total in the Premier League era - 72.
