Everton's Roberto Martinez: 'Performances have been better than our results'

Everton boss Roberto Martinez says that he is more concerned about good performances than results at this stage of the season.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has admitted that his priority at this stage of the season is performance over results.

The Merseyside outfit have grabbed just two victories and lost once, but they have been restricted to draws three times so far in the Premier League this season.

"The excitement is there with the group of players we have," Martinez told reporters in today's press conference. "Our level of performances have probably been better than the points return.

"I'd rather have the performances than the points at this stage, but in general terms we are very aware of the level of competition we have faced so far."

The Toffees will take on West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Monday night.
