Everton confirm that club legend Dave Hickson has passed away at the age of 83.

Everton have confirmed that club legend Dave Hickson has passed away at the age of 83.

The former striker joined the Toffees in 1948 and went on to enjoy two spells at Goodison Park before retiring in 1964. During that time, Hickson scored 111 goals in 243 games for the Blues.

An official Everton tweet read: "Everton Football Club regrets to inform its supporters that club legend Dave Hickson has passed away."

Additional spells with Liverpool and Tranmere Rovers made Hickson the only man to play professionally for Merseyside's three main clubs.
