Manager Frank Lampard admits that he was relieved to end a two-game losing streak in the Championship with victory over Ipswich Town on Tuesday night.

Manager Frank Lampard has admitted that Derby County's 2-0 victory over Ipswich Town was "very big" for both himself and the club.

The Rams went into the match having suffered back-to-back defeats against Leeds United and Millwall, but the East Midlands outfit responded with a comfortable win over the Tractor Boys on Tuesday night.

Lampard has maintained that the club are 'going through a process', but acknowledged that the pressure had increased ahead of the fixture at Pride Park.

The 40-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "It was reward for work rate, attitude, and good play. It was a good lesson for me and I've not taken the highs or lows too much either way.

"After Millwall, people were looking at one win out of three, two losses on the bounce and now today we've won. I think there's more in the tank but we have to stay grounded, this is a long game for us.

"We are trying to change a bit of style and bring young players in so there's a process, but of course results are massive because people will judge you by them so it was very big for me and for us to get that one."

Derby sit in eighth place in the standings ahead of the six fixtures which will take place on Wednesday night.
