Derby County midfielder Tom Huddlestone has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Stoke City.
Huddlestone was a regular for the Rams as they reached the Championship playoffs last season, but the 31-year-old is yet to make an appearance under new manager Frank Lampard.
The player's former boss Gary Rowett is now at Stoke, and according to the Daily Mail, the Potters are ready to make a loan bid for the former England international.
The report claims that Derby may look to make further cutbacks by allowing Huddlestone to leave on a temporary basis providing that a permanent deal can go through next summer.
Stoke currently have six central midfielders on their books, and a seventh could soon arrive if they are successful with an offer for Brentford's Ryan Woods.
However, the Staffordshire-based outfit could allow Badou Ndiaye, Giannelli Imbula and Charlie Adam to leave the bet365 Stadium before the end of the month.
