Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher backs Jose Mourinho to win the league with Chelsea.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has tipped Chelsea to win the Premier League title next season.

The ex-England international, who recently joined Sky Sports as a pundit, believes that Jose Mourinho will find success in his first season back at Stamford Bridge.

"If you put me on the spot and ask me right now, 'Who will win the league?', then I'd pick Chelsea," The Mirror quotes him as saying. "I'd pick them because Mourinho is coming back, and also because they actually have a very good team - they had a really good team last season, with some fantastic players.

"You look at the Premier League last season, most people would say that [Luis] Suarez, [Gareth] Bale and [Robin] Van Persie were the top three players.

"But [Juan] Mata and [Eden] Hazard were probably four and five, and this season under a different manager they could easily go on and become the top players in the league - that's the quality they have."

Carragher went on to describe Mourinho as a "special manager" who "gets results".
