Brighton & Hove Albion complete Ezequiel Schelotto signing

Brighton & Hove Albion complete the signing of Ezequiel Schelotto on a three-year deal from Sporting Lisbon.

Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of full-back Ezequiel Schelotto on a three-year deal from Sporting Lisbon.

The 28-year-old joins the Seagulls for an undisclosed fee after a two-year spell in the Primeira Liga with Sporting.

Schelotto has put pen to paper on a contract which will keep him at the Amex Stadium until 2020.

"We are delighted that Ezequiel is joining us. He has made nearly 190 appearances in the top flight in Italy and Portugal and has played in the Champions League, and is the type of experienced player we want to add to the squad," manager Chris Hughton told the club's official website.

"He can also play as a more attacking wing-back and so gives us some good options in defence."

Schelotto could make his debut for Brighton at home to West Bromwich Albion after the international break.
