Hertha Berlin stun Borussia Dortmund

Hertha Berlin beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in the Bundesliga away from home.

Hertha Berlin have come from a goal down to stun Borussia Dortmund 2-1 at Signal Iduna Park in the Bundesliga.

The home side started strongly and the first effort on goal came from Jakub Blaszczykowski, but his effort from range was quickly blocked by Hertha.

Then two minutes later BVB were ahead. Nuri Sahin played the ball into Marco Reus, who beat the offside trap and got to the ball way ahead of debutant goalkeeper Marius Gersbeck to roll the ball home.

Robert Lewandowski had a chance to make it 2-0 shortly afterwards but after working space for himself he could not lift the ball over Gersbeck.

Dortmund were made to pay for missing their chances as Hertha were level after a fine counter-attack. Adrian Ramos headed in low to complete a swift break.

It got better for the away team as they scored late in the half through Sami Allagui to give them a lead ahead of the second period.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos had a chance with 10 minutes gone in the second period, but his downward header bounced over the bar when he might have done better.

A late chance fell to Kevin Grosskreutz, but the right-back missed his header as Dortmund fell to another defeat.
