Neil Lennon: 'Bolton Wanderers should have beaten Nottingham Forest'

Neil Lennon insists that Bolton Wanderers deserved to beat Nottingham Forest after the two teams drew 1-1 in the Championship.

Neil Lennon believes that Bolton Wanderers deserved to win their match against Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon.

David Vaughan gave Forest the lead in the 82nd minute but Stephen Dobbie scored a stoppage-time equaliser to rescue a point for the Trotters.

"We should have won the game," Lennon told BBC Sport.

"Our football was good and we contained Forest to the odd counter-attack. But we lost a goal to another wonder strike and you hold your hands up and say, 'Good hit'. But the reaction was excellent.

"They showed a lot of character and we did more than enough to win the game which has been the story of our season so far. We didn't look like a team who are second bottom."

Bolton are yet to win this season and are currently 23rd in the Championship table.
