Struggling Blackburn Rovers will go into their home match against Norwich City on Saturday knowing that even a win would still be likely to keep them in the relegation zone.
A victory could put Steve Kean's side level on points with 17th-placed Queens Park Rangers, but Rovers would stay in the bottom three due to their woeful goal difference.
However, the Lancashire club may well fancy ending their run of five straight defeats against a Norwich side who were thrashed 6-1 by Manchester City last weekend.
Blackburn are expected to be without influential trio Yakubu, Junior Hoilett and Grant Hanley, while Zak Whitbread and Daniel Ayala are sidelined for the Canaries.
The two teams played out an entertaining 3-3 draw at Carrow Road back in October.
