Udo Lattek believes that things could go wrong at Bayern Munich because of the differences between Jupp Heynckes and Matthias Sammer.

Former Bayern Munich coach Udo Lattek has warned that things could go wrong for the Bavarian giants if coach Jupp Heynckes and sporting director Matthias Sammer do not sort out their differences soon.

Sammer publicly criticised Bayern's performance against Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga last weekend, leaving Heynckes angry.

"It is to be expected that there will be more trouble in the not too distant future," Bild quotes Lattek as saying. "Sammer and Heynckes are both selfish people, something that's crucial for a coach.

"However, normally, this situation will not work for too long. They are both alpha-males who want things to go their way.

"It would surprise me if things did not go wrong shortly. I really hope this will not happen, though. There's still plenty of time to repair all of this."

Lattek coached Bayern between 1970 and 1975 and then from 1983 to 1987.
