Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer has admitted that they 'must be crazy' if they want to land their top targets this summer.
Bayern have been linked with a £31.5m move for Athletic Bilbao's Javi Martinez and Sammer ackowledges that the only way to secure his signature is to pay the fee Bilbao are asking for.
"Right now we're not doing [bidding for Martinez] because it is crazy, but if we want to do things on the pitch then we must be crazy," Sammer told Kicker.
Bayern have already signed Mario Mandzukic, Tom Starke and Claudio Pizarro this summer.
