Athletic Bilbao coach Marcelo Bielsa has claimed that he is to blame for his side's 3-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in Thursday's Europa League final.
A brace from Radamel Falcao and a late strike from Diego saw Madrid ease to victory over an out-of-sorts Bilbao in Bucharest.
"I am disappointed, we did not play a good match," Bielsa said.
"I am in charge of the strategy of the squad who failed to achieve its objective, which makes the disappointment even greater.
"The feeling of personal responsibility increases in the sense that the difference in quality of the two teams is not the one shown tonight."
Bilbao will now turn their attention to the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona on Friday, May 25.
