Alex McLeish concedes that Aston Villa's midweek clash with Bolton is "huge" as they battle to avoid relegation.

Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish has admitted that Tuesday's match against Bolton Wanderers is "huge" as they fight to avoid the Premier League drop.

A run of just one win in ten games has seen the Midlands side dragged into a relegation battle ahead of their fixture with fellow strugglers Bolton tomorrow.

McLeish has acknowledged the importance of the clash but is confident his players can thrive under the high-pressure environment.

"It's a huge game and the players are aware how important it is. We all are. If we show the commitment we have shown in recent home games we can earn the right to win this," he said.

"It is a high-pressure game. Everybody knows what is at stake so I wouldn't imagine that any player is frightened to go into battle.

"They know what they have to do and we know what we have to do."

The game is a rearranged fixture after the original tie was postponed due to Fabrice Muamba's cardiac arrest.
