Paul Lambert: 'Charles N'Zogbia could play this season'

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert suggests that Charles N'Zogbia could return to action before the end of the season.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has revealed that Charles N'Zogbia has resumed light training following a long battle with an Achilles injury.

N'Zogbia has been unable to make an appearance this season after suffering an while on holiday in July but Lambert insists that the winger could return for Villa before the end of the current campaign.

"You would think he would play before the end of the season but it's not nice. I think his Achilles heel just went and once you get that it's a major injury," Lambert told reporters.

"He's doing well Charles. He's been out since July time when he did that. He's just started back with the fitness lads, doing little bits. But his match fitness is not there."

N'Zogbia joined Villa in the summer of 2011.
