Darren Bent has been ruled out of England's friendly encounter against Holland this week.
The Aston Villa striker was stretchered off during his side's 0-0 draw with Wigan Athletic this afternoon.
Bent suffered an ankle injury following a collision with Wigan defender Antolin Alcaraz.
He was seen leaving the DW Stadium on crutches and with his foot in a protective cast, throwing his participation on Wednesday into doubt.
Villa have now confirmed that the 28-year-old will play no part against the Dutch.
