Arsene Wenger: 'Lukas Podolski not for sale'

Arsene Wenger reveals that he has no intention of letting out-of-favour forward Lukas Podolski leave Arsenal in January.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has insisted that he will not be selling Lukas Podolski in January.

The German is reportedly eyeing up a winter exit after recently reiterating his frustrations over a lack of first-team chances.

"He plays a position where there is a big competition. The post where I have a lot of players. He came very late from his holidays [in the summer]," Wenger told beIN Sports.

"He started after his teammates and was not good physically.

"It's not established at all that he will leave at Christmas. It was me who sets the price and it doesn't correspond at all to his price. He is not for sale and there is no offer."

Podolski, whose contract expires in 2016, has started just one game for the Gunners since returning to the club football after helping Germany to World Cup success in July.
