Arsenal youngster Eddie Nketiah 'to be rewarded with new deal'

A report claims that Eddie Nketiah will be offered a new five-year deal worth £15,000 a week by Arsenal - a 650% hike on his current salary.

Arsenal youngster Eddie Nketiah will reportedly be offered a new long-term deal following his starring role in the 2-1 win over Norwich City earlier this week.

The 18-year-old came off the bench late on to rescue the Gunners a place in the EFL Cup quarter-finals, scoring twice on his home debut for the club.

According to The Sun, the former Chelsea product is in line for a 650% pay hike, taking his current £2,000-a-week salary to around £15,000 a week.

Should Nketiah put pen to paper it is understood that he will remain contracted to Arsenal until the end of the 2021-22 season.

Boss Arsene Wenger has vowed to give the forward more chances to impress at first-team level, but left him out of the squad entirely for Saturday's 2-1 win against Swansea City.
