Everton have reportedly expressed an interest in making an audacious move for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez in January.
The Chile international is out of contract next summer and speculation around his future dominated headlines over the last few months.
Sanchez was believed to be on the verge of signing for Manchester City, only for the Gunners to pull the plug on the move late on due to their failure to acquire a suitable replacement.
According to The Sun, Toffees owner Farhad Moshiri is aware that the Citizens will not move for the 28-year-old until next summer and is preparing a £30m offer for when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.
The report acknowledges that Everton are aware of Sanchez's desire to join a team competing in the Champions League and is believed to favour a reunion with Pep Guardiola, his former boss at Barcelona.
However, Moshiri is believed to fancy his chances, given that the Merseysiders have made a number of illustrious signings over the last few months, with the likes of Wayne Rooney and Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Everton are currently languishing in 18th place in the Premier League table and are looking for a new manager following the dismissal of Ronald Koeman.
