Manchester City have reportedly shelved plans to move for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez in January.
The Chilean is out of contract next year and speculation around his future dominated headlines throughout the summer.
Sanchez was believed to be on the verge of signing for City, only for the Gunners to pull the plug on the move late on in the summer transfer window.
According to The Mirror, the Citizens are still unhappy about how negotiations were handled for the 28-year-old's signature in August.
The report claims that the Premier League leaders would rather wait until the summer when they can snap up Sanchez on a free transfer and deprive Arsenal of a £20m transfer fee.
A number of leading European clubs are also said to be interested in Sanchez but City are believed to be frontrunners due to the player's eagerness to link up again with Pep Guardiola.
