Arsene Wenger: 'I need more leaders on the pitch'

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits that he needs to bring leaders into his team to help with his side's defensive organisation.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has conceded that he needs more leaders on the pitch, especially in the back four.

The Gunners have been vulnerable at the back this season and Wenger feels that his team could do with players like Chelsea duo John Terry and Gary Cahill to boost their organisational ability.

Wenger told reporters: "John Terry is a coach on the pitch, he's a Tony Adams, basically, organising the team because he has huge experience.

"Maybe [Gary] Cahill in five, six, seven years will be like that as well. He is the right age and you do not find many any more. You had more before than you do today.

"With people coming in from different countries, communication has gone from the back four, much more than before and you see less people who talk. They do not always speak the same language, they do not respond to situations in the same way. That has gone a little bit from our game."

Wenger's side play Stoke City at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
