Arsenal's Santi Cazorla: 'Barcelona are the benchmark'

Arsenal's Santi Cazorla hopes that the Gunners can learn from Barcelona by striking the perfect balance between style and success in the coming years.

Santi Cazorla is hopeful that he and his Arsenal teammates can deliver trophies with the same style as Barcelona did last season.

The Catalans swept all before them in Spain and on the continent by winning La Liga, the Champions League and a Copa del Rey to complete their second treble since 2009.

Consequently, Cazorla admits that the Gunners - who won the FA Cup - are keen to win further silverware with the same flair and panache as their Spanish counterparts.

"If Arsenal can in the future reach the level of Barcelona, that's the goal," Cazorla told Goal.com.

"Barcelona are the reference point for the football world and all of us want to be closer to them. All teams want to win and to do it like Barcelona. We at Arsenal like that philosophy too."

The 30-year-old joined the North Londoners from Malaga in 2012.
