Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer rumours, including Sergio Reguilon to Nottingham Forest, Bryan Gil to Valencia, Marcelo to Nice and Jan Bednarek to Aston Villa.

Nottingham Forest are reportedly exploring the possibility of taking Tottenham Hotspur left-back Sergio Reguilon on loan.

The 25-year-old has fallen down the pecking order in North London, with both Ivan Perisic and Ryan Sessegnon preferred in the left wing-back role by Antonio Conte.

Reguilon has made 67 appearances in all competitions since joining Spurs from Real Madrid in 2020, but the Spain international is yet to play under Conte this season and is now considering his options ahead of a proposed summer exit.

According to the Daily Mail, Nottingham Forest could move for Reguilon before the transfer window shuts, while both Lazio and Villarreal have made enquiries for the left-sided defender.

Steve Cooper's side have already signed 16 players so far this summer, including left-backs Omar Richards and Harry Toffolo, but the Tricky Trees remain active in the transfer market.

The report adds that Forest have also seen a £1m bid rejected by Wolverhampton Wanderers for centre-back Willy Boly, and the newly-promoted Premier League side are expected to table an improved bid of £2m.

Reguilon is not the only player who could be leaving Tottenham before the September 1 deadline as attacker Bryan Gil is reportedly edging closer to joining Valencia on loan.

The 21-year-old is another who has failed to nail down a regular place in Conte's side and is seemingly deemed surplus to requirements.

Gil spent the second half of last season on loan with Valencia, and journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that the playmaker is set to return to Los Che on a temporary deal for the 2022-23 campaign.

Romano adds that Valencia have not discussed including a buy option for Gil, who joined Spurs from Sevilla for an initial fee of around £21m in the summer of 2021.

Gil made just nine Premier League appearances for Spurs last season, all as a substitute, before featuring 17 times during his six-month loan spell at Valencia.

Over in Ligue 1, Nice have reportedly offered a contract to veteran left-back and free agent Marcelo.

The 34-year-old is currently without a club after leaving Real Madrid upon the expiration of his contract in June, ending his 15-year association with the Spanish giants.

Spanish journalist Sebastien Denis claims that Nice have submitted a contract offer to Marcelo, although the terms on the table are deemed 'insufficient' by the Brazilian.

A German club and a Spanish club have also made 'firm' contract offers to sign Marcelo, with one of them believed to be higher than the proposal made by Nice.

Lazio are another club who have been credited with an interest in Marcelo, who made a total of 546 appearances for Real Madrid and won 25 trophies, including five Champions Leagues and six La Liga titles.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa have reportedly made a loan offer to sign Southampton's 26-year-old centre-back Jan Bednarek.

Steven Gerrard is on the lookout for a new central defender after summer signing Diego Carlos ruptured his Achilles tendon earlier this month and faces up to six months on the sidelines.

According to Football Insider, Villa are exploring the possibility of taking Bedbarek on loan for the 2022-23 campaign instead of pursuing a permanent transfer.

Bednarek started Southampton's opening two Premier League matches of the new season, but was not involved in their 2-1 win over Leicester City last weekend.

The Poland international, who still has three years remaining on his contract at St Mary's, was a first-team regular under Ralph Hasenhuttl last season, making 31 Premier League appearances at the heart of the defence.
