Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's injury and suspension news ahead of their Copa del Rey clash with Barbastro.

Barcelona will be bidding to avoid a third straight defeat in all competitions when they resume their 2024-25 campaign with a contest against Barbastro in the Copa del Rey on Saturday evening.

Hansi Flick's side entered the winter break off the back of a successive league defeats to Leganes and Atletico Madrid, which saw them drop into third position in the La Liga table.

Barcelona are the most successful side in the history of the Copa del Rey, lifting the trophy on 31 occasions, with their last triumph in the competition coming back in 2020-21.

Christensen has been missing since the first gameweek of the campaign with an Achilles problem, but the Denmark international is now back in training and should return to the squad before the end of the month.

Bernal suffered an ACL injury against Rayo Vallecano in the league earlier this term, and he is out for the season, with the youngster working to be ready for pre-season ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

Yamal remains on the sidelines, with the 17-year-old picking up an ankle problem against Leganes on December 15, but there is a chance that he could return for the clash with Athletic Bilbao on January 8.

Barcelona have no players suspended for the Copa del Rey fixture, but neither Dani Olmo nor Pau Victor can play at this moment in time due to their registration problems.
