Anne Keothavong has missed out on a place in this year's French Open after losing her first-round qualifier to Eva Birnerova.
Despite taking the first set, the British number four was beaten by her Czech opponent 3-6 6-3 6-0.
Meanwhile, British number three Johanna Konta came through her match against China's Zheng Saisai 6-1 6-3.
The main draw for the French Open, which will include Laura Robson and Heather Watson, takes place in Paris on Friday.
