Heather Watson insists that Great Britain can win their Federation Cup match against Argentina later this month despite her absence.

Heather Watson has admitted her disappointment at being ruled out of Britain's Federation Cup match against Argentina later this month.

The Brit, who is ranked 41st in the world, will not be able to compete in the playoff encounter as she continues to recover from glandular fever.

"I am very disappointed not to be able to play Fed Cup. I was really looking forward to getting back with the team and competing against Argentina," Watson told Sportsbeat.

"I will be following avidly and supporting the team from afar. It's a big miss for me and I will not only be missing the tennis but the team spirit and all the fun we have when we are together. I know the girls can win it and my thoughts will be with them."

Laura Robson, Anne Keothavong, Elena Baltacha and Johanna Konta will make up the team.
