Kenny Jackett: 'Bakary Sako transfer talk can wait until summer'

Kenny Jackett admits that he will wait until the end of the season before deciding whether to offer Bakary Sako a new contract at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett has revealed that the future of striker Bakary Sako will not be decided until the summer.

The Mali international, who is currently away on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations, has reportedly caught the eye of a number of Premier League clubs having scored 30 goals in his 106 appearances for the club.

Sako's three-year deal at Molineux is due to expire at the end of the season, but Jackett insists that no decision will be made over whether a new contract will be drawn up until that stage.

"There won't be any clarity until the summer," he told BBC Sport. "His contract is up at the end of the season and it will be left until then.

"In terms of his own personal options, he's been very straight with us. His next contract is a very important one and I would not say it's not going to be at Wolves. But he'll make the decision based on the potential on us going forward and what else he can get."

Wolves are currently eighth in the Championship table, sitting one point below the playoff zone.
