Tottenham Hotspur defender Steven Caulker is focused on trying to break into the North London club's first team following his season-long stint at Swansea City.
The 20-year-old has been a regular inclusion in the Swans side for their Premier League campaign and the England Under-21 international believes that he can emulate Kyle Walker and force his way into Tottenham's starting XI.
"For me, going out on loan has been all about progression, trying to put myself in a position where I am ready to compete for a place at Spurs," Caulker told Spurs' official website.
"Kyle has done brilliantly and has definitely shown the plus side of going out and learning your trade. I would love to follow in his footsteps and be alongside him at Spurs next season.
"Pre-season is going to be a crucial time for me, a time where I need to be at my best and show that I am worth a place in the squad."
Despite Caulker's desire to return to White Hart Lane, Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers is hopeful that he can keep hold of the defender for another season.
