Alan Tate suffers a calf injury and is expected to be out of action for Swansea City for two to three weeks.

Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that defender Alan Tate has picked up a calf injury, which is likely to keep him out of action for two to three weeks.

The 29-year-old suffered the injury blow during the warm-up before the Swans' 3-0 win over Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.

"We are looking at two or three weeks out, but his powers of recovery are usually very good so we will assess things and see how he goes on.

"His timing hasn't been great as far as injuries are concerned this year, and it's been disappointing for him because he has been a key member of our group since I've been here."

Tate could make his return to action for Swansea's May 6 Premier League match against Manchester United.
