Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that he would like to keep Steven Caulker at the Liberty Stadium for another season.
The 20-year-old defender is coming to the end of his season-long loan spell with Swansea and will return to parent club Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.
Rodgers, who has already discussed the chance of an extension with Spurs boss Harry Redknapp, believes that Caulker would benefit from another another campaign under his guidance.
"I spoke to Harry at length and he understands Steven has had a fantastic season and it will be between now and the end of the season before they determine where he will go, it will depend on the club and where they are at," Rodgers told reporters.
"He has made a massive jump in his career through playing games here, and it's down to where they see him fitting in there next season.
"He could well come back on loan next season whether it will be here will be another question, but that will be nothing that will be answered until they bring him back in, have a look at the squad they have got and take it from there."
Caulker has made 19 Premier League appearances for the Swans this season.
