Lyon lead Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at half time in the second leg of their Europa League last-32 tie at the Stade de Gerland.

Lyon have a 1-0 half-time lead over Tottenham Hotspur in the second leg of their Europa League last-32 tie at the Stade de Gerland.

The score is currently 2-2 on aggregate, but the French club will go through if it stays as it is thanks to their away goal in the first leg.

The home side took the lead in the 16th minute as Maxime Gonalons snuck forward at the near post to head in Clement Grenier's whipped free kick.

Lyon dominated after their goal as a lack of discipline from Spurs reduced the visitors to attacking on the break.

Tottenham created a rare opening with half an hour played, but Lisandro dragged his effort wide from 12 yards.

Spurs nearly snatched an equaliser in the 44th minute, only for Lewis Holtby's low strike to come back off the post.
