Glasgow Rangers are likely to appeal Lee McCulloch's red card this afternoon, according to manager Ally McCoist.

Glasgow Rangers manager Ally McCoist has admitted that his club are likely to appeal the red card that Lee McCulloch was handed this afternoon.

The midfielder was handed his marching orders in the 24th minute for an alleged elbow on St Mirren's player Graham Carey.

Rangers were leading 1-0 at the time but went on to lose the clash at St Mirren Park 2-1.

"We will have a look at it again in the next couple of hours and decide whether we are going to appeal," said McCoist.

"I'll have a chat with Lee but it's a distinct possibility."

The reigning champions are now just one point ahead of rivals Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premier League table.
