Rangers boss hints at Kris Boyd move

Rangers boss Ally McCoist refuses to rule out a move for former striker Kris Boyd.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist has refused to rule out a move for former striker Kris Boyd.

The 28-year-old is a free agent after he terminated his contract with Turkish club Eskisehirspor over a wages dispute.

"We've not heard anything. I'm in absolutely no position to rule anybody out. Unfortunately I'm in no position to count anybody in," McCoist told reporters.

"All I would say is I'm definitely short on forward areas. Although I can't say there is definite interest, it's certainly an area we need strengthening in."

Boyd, who has also played for Kilmarnock and Nottingham Forest, is the SPL's all-time leading goalscorer with 164 goals.
