Rangers boss Ally McCoist is keen for striker Kyle Lafferty to sign a new deal at Ibrox.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist has expressed his desire for striker Kyle Lafferty to sign a new contract at Ibrox.

The 24-year-old's current deal expires at the end of next season, but McCoist is eager for him to stay.

"I'm really keen to see him extend his deal and I'm hopeful we can do that," he said.

"I would like to sit down with his people and look at it all. I don't want to lose him.

"He has a very good goal-scoring record here. And I think he will get better still. There are plenty more goals and good games to come from Laff and I want them to be here."

The Northern Irishman signed for the SPL champions from Burnley in 2008.
