Newcastle United midfielder Cheik Tiote believes that the club's new arrivals have already turned the club's fortunes around.
The Magpies endured a troublesome first half of the season as they languished just above the Premier League relegation zone.
However, after manager Alan Pardew made several signings during the transfer window, Newcastle have moved up to 13th place, and Tiote believes that they can continue to move higher.
The 26-year-old told the Hartlepool Mail. "The situation was bad – you don't want to see the club in a bad moment.
"We didn't play well in the first six months, and after that, the club signed some new players, which was good. We have some fresh players in the team.
"We have 11 games left, and we want to win as many as possible. Anything is possible."
Newcastle will be hoping to move towards the top half of the Premier League table with three points against Swansea City at the weekend.
