Jaap Stam eyes Manchester United coaching job

Jaap Stam expresses his desire to take on a coaching role at former club Manchester United in the future.

Former Manchester United defender Jaap Stam has revealed that he would one day like to return to the club in a coaching capacity.

The Dutchman spent three years with the Red Devils prior to his departure for Lazio in 2001.

However, having gone through his coaching badges during his time in charge of Ajax's Under-21 side, the 43-year-old is keen to embark on another career at Old Trafford.

"I want to develop myself and go to a team in England, so I've told Ajax I'm finishing my contract and then we can wait until the next season," he told the Daily Mail.

"First it would be for me to work as a manager in England, but eventually, if I develop and do well, hopefully I can get back in a role for United."

Stam won three Premier League titles, one FA Cup and the Champions League during his time as a United player.
