Jaap Stam: 'I want to manage in England'

Former Manchester United defender Jaap Stam says that he wants to manage in England.

Former Manchester United defender Jaap Stam has said that he wants to manage a club in England.

The 43-year-old has coached the Ajax reserve team since 2014, and revealed that he has already been approached by English clubs.

"As soon as I get the opportunity to work in England, I will go for it," Stam told reporters.

"There has been some interest already, but that's all I can say. Of course, I still have to prove myself at the top level.

"Now I am ready to get a job with a club on my own."

Stam played for United between 1998 and 2001 and won the 1999 Champions League.
